    • Award winning* wealth manager looking to almost double the size of its regional financial planning team over the next year

    • Sees opportunities arising from the retreat of banks from the advice market

  • Aims to add to existing local teams and establish footholds in new regions across the UK

Bestinvest, the award winning wealth manager, is embarking on a significant recruitment drive to further build out its regional presence across the UK. The firm is looking to almost double the number of financial planners it employs in existing offices outside of London over the next year as it gathers momentum in its face-to-face advice business**.

The first phase of the expansion will be to recruit qualified, experienced, financial planners to support its teams in existing offices across the UK. Bestinvest will also look to potentially open up a presence in new regions, subject to finding the right calibre of professionals. Bestinvest currently employs over 200 people and has financial planners operating in 39 locations across the UK.

Richard Dawes, joint Managing Director of Wealth Management at Bestinvest said: “Bestinvest has long been known for the high calibre of its investment research and pioneering presence in the non-advised space but with the acquisition of HW Financial Services from Haines Watts accountants in 2010, the group gained a nationwide financial planning presence that has been successfully integrated and is now winning awards.”

“We will be looking to expand our well-established business in areas including Scotland, the North East, North West of England and the Midlands, as well as considering establishing a presence in locations where we are currently lighter on the ground such as the south coast, East Anglia and South Wales subject to finding the right people.”

“Today over half of Bestinvest’s business is advised or managed and we have a model that can support clients at each stage of their lives. Far from heralding the end of face to face advice, we have seen strong growth in our advised business both before and after the introduction of RDR. The withdrawal of the banks from the advice market creates real opportunity for us, providing we can find high quality people who share our commitment to great client service.”
