Marie Curie Hospice – Pay for a Day
Our Glasgow office raised money for the Marie Curie ‘Pay for a Day’ initiative. The team raised almost £4,500 for the charity’s Glasgow hospice.
We held a variety of fundraising activities – from a women’s networking event to the annual Santa Dash, where several of our employees completed a 5km circuit around Glasgow dressed in full Santa Clause attire.
Paul Frame, Managing Director and Head of our Glasgow Office said:
“Marie Curie is close to the hearts of many of the team at Tilney Bestinvest, and many of us have received personal support from the charity. The Glasgow hospice team is exceptionally professional and helpful, and ‘Pay for a Day’ is a great way for us to show our support for the hospice that has given so much to so many of us”.
The Lodging House Mission
Staff from our Glasgow offices helped out at The Lodging House Mission, a charity dedicated to supporting homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded individuals.
The Glasgow-based group provides service users with hot meals and food parcels, as well as offering educational and recreational activities like CV workshops and football sessions. Every year the charity takes part in the ‘Harvest collection’, where local churches rally for food donations towards these hot meals and food parcels.
It can take several weeks of hard work for charity staff to process these generous donations – which must be collected, checked and sorted before being used. We were happy to help out by arranging and stacking shelves in the food storage room.
