Supporting the arts

The Mackintosh Appeal

We are committed to supporting The Glasgow School of Art with The Mackintosh Appeal through membership of the Ambassadors Committee of the Development Trust. The Appeal was launched in June 2014 with the aim of raising funds to support the school and the students in the work that needs to be undertaken following the devastating fire in the Mackintosh building in May 2014. At launch the school was delighted to confirm that both Peter Capaldi and Brad Pitt have agreed to become Trustees aiding worldwide awareness of The Mackintosh Appeal.

Our work within the local arts community is further enhanced through board positions with Glasgow Art Club and the CCA (Centre for Contemporary Art).

Wildlife Artist of the Year preview

On 30 June 2015 we sponsored the Wildlife Artist of the Year preview event held at London’s prestigious Mall Galleries. The exhibition showcases over 150 works of art in a range of mediums from artists around the globe. Profits from the sales of these pieces will go to the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation , which supports endangered wildlife by funding a range of innovative, vital and far-reaching projects throughout Africa and Asia.

Richard Brown, Business Development Director said: “The money raised through the sale of artwork at The Wildlife Artist of the Year exhibition contributes toward the protection of endangered wildlife around the world, and we are delighted to show our support for the event once again.”

Liverpool contemporary arts fair

We were proud to be a Gold Sponsor for the Liverpool Contemporary Arts Fair, which took place at the Royal Liver Buildings between 26 and 28 June 2015. This was the second consecutive year of the fair, which featured over 1,000 pieces of work from 40 local, national and international artists and galleries. These included an exclusive £3.5 million exhibition celebrating the work of British painter L.S. Lowry.
